A warm welcome to the Global Snake Educator’s Network. Through this network, a shared initiative between Save The Snakes and Instituto Butantan, we hope to create a community where snake educators from around the world can share resources, ideas and knowledge to collaborate and mitigate human-snake conflict and snakebite incidences while promoting coexistence between people and snakes.

We invite you to share resources that you use within your own communities and encourage you to collaborate with other members in the network. The more knowledge we share about snakes, the more awareness we can create among the general public. We look forward to working together!

Hello! I'm Hiral, a herpetologist and conservationist with a focus on snake ecology, conservation and education. I am a PhD graduate from the Alexander Herp Lab at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. My research focuses on better understanding venomous snakes and their role in snakebite. I was born in Zimbabwe, currently live in South Africa, and living in Africa has largely inspired my passion for nature and wildlife. My interests are broad, spanning from conservation biology, herpetology, technology, communications, field biology and finding new ways to save species and their habitats. View all posts by Hiral
